Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology has increased smartphone use among Muslim high school students in both academic and non-academic activities. While smartphones provide access to educational resources and learning information, excessive use may influence students’ learning concentration. This study aims to examine smartphone usage intensity, assess students’ learning concentration, and analyze the predictive role of smartphone usage intensity on learning concentration among Muslim high school students. The study employed a quantitative correlational design. Data were collected through questionnaires, observations, and documentation and analyzed using descriptive statistics and simple linear regression with IBM SPSS Statistics. The findings reveal that smartphone usage intensity and students’ learning concentration are both categorized as high. Regression analysis indicates that smartphone usage intensity significantly predicts students’ learning concentration. These findings suggest that smartphone use plays an important role in shaping students’ ability to maintain concentration during learning activities. The study implies the need for appropriate supervision, digital literacy, and responsible smartphone use to support learning effectiveness while minimizing potential distractions.
