Classroom Action Research: Implementing the Four-Step Method to Improve Students' Understanding of Quran Translation

Understanding the translated Quran is an essential competency in Islamic Religious Education as it helps students comprehend Quranic messages and values contextually. However, many students still experience difficulties in understanding the meaning of verses, show low participation in learning activities, and rely heavily on teacher-centered instruction. This study aims to improve students' understanding of Quran translation through the implementation of a digital-based four-step method. The study employed a classroom action research design conducted in two cycles consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. Data were collected through classroom observations, learning achievement tests, documentation, and field notes. The findings revealed that the implementation of the digital-based four-step method increased student participation, strengthened collaborative learning, and improved students' understanding of Quran translation. The improvement was reflected in the achievement of learning indicators and student learning outcomes in each cycle. These findings imply that the digital-based four-step method can serve as an effective instructional strategy for improving the quality of Quran translation learning at the junior secondary school level.
