Implementation of Talaqqi and Tikrar Methods in Improving the Quality of Quranic Memorization among Students at Maskanul Huffadz Tahfidz Islamic Boarding School

The quality of Quranic memorization is not merely measured by the quantity of memorized verses but also by the accuracy of recitation, fluency, and the ability to retain memorization over time. This study aims to examine the implementation of the talaqqi and tikrar methods in improving the quality of Quranic memorization among students at Maskanul Huffadz Tahfidz Islamic Boarding School. This research employed a qualitative approach with a field study design. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews with Quranic instructors and students, and documentation of learning activities. The data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the talaqqi method plays a significant role in ensuring recitation accuracy through direct guidance and correction from instructors, while the tikrar method effectively strengthens memory retention and maintains memorization consistency. The integrated implementation of both methods contributes to improving the quality of students’ memorization, as reflected in enhanced fluency, reduced recitation errors, and stronger memorization retention. The study implies that integrating talaqqi and tikrar can serve as an effective instructional strategy for improving Quranic memorization quality and strengthening tahfidz education practices in Islamic boarding schools.
