Reformulation of Outcome-Based Education Curriculum in Islamic Education Through Open Online Course-Based Learning

The rapid development of digital technology requires Islamic education to reformulate its curriculum in order to respond to twenty-first-century educational demands while maintaining Islamic values. One relevant approach is the integration of Outcome-Based Education and Open Online Course-based learning, which emphasizes learning outcomes, flexible access, and competency development. This article aims to analyze the reformulation of the Islamic education curriculum through the integration of these two approaches in addressing educational challenges in the digital era. This study employed a qualitative method using content analysis by examining relevant journal articles, books, policy documents, and other scholarly sources. Data were analyzed through the stages of data reduction, categorization, interpretation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the integration of Outcome-Based Education and Open Online Course-based learning strengthens curriculum orientation toward learning outcomes, enhances learning flexibility and accessibility, promotes student-centered learning, and develops digital competencies needed in the global era. The study implies that such curriculum reformulation has the potential to foster a more inclusive, innovative, adaptive, and globally competitive system of Islamic education while maintaining its Islamic values and educational objectives.
