The digital era has significantly transformed children's patterns of social interaction, as reflected in the decline of language etiquette, the spread of harmful speech, and the increasing prevalence of verbal bullying in online environments. This phenomenon highlights the need to strengthen social manners from an early age as a foundation for character formation and social responsibility. This article examines Musthafa Khattab’s perspective on social manners in contemporary children's Quranic exegesis through his interpretation of Surat al-Ḥujurat (1–13) in The Clear Quran for Kids. Using a qualitative approach and content analysis, the study draws on The Clear Quran for Kids as the primary source, supported by relevant literature on children's exegesis, character education, and psychosocial development. The data were analyzed through thematic categorization and interpretive analysis. The findings indicate that Khattab presents social manners through child-friendly and contextual explanations that emphasize respect for authority, ethical communication, information verification, respect for privacy, brotherhood, tolerance, equality, and justice. These values are closely aligned with Erik Erikson’s psychosocial stages of initiative versus guilt and industry versus inferiority, contributing to the development of responsibility, empathy, self-confidence, and social awareness. This study demonstrates the potential of contemporary children's exegesis as a strategic medium for Quran-based character education in the digital age.
