The Qur’an teaches that divorce should be considered a last resort after various reconciliation efforts have been exhausted. This study aims to analyze Qur’anic values related to divorce prevention based on Tafsīr al-Marāghī. It employs a qualitative method through library research and a thematic exegesis approach (mawḍū‘ī). The data were analyzed using content analysis of Qur’anic verses concerning the prevention of divorce. The findings indicate that al-Marāghī emphasizes the importance of mu‘āsyarah bi al-ma‘rūf, patience, effective communication, the fulfillment of the rights and obligations of both spouses, and conflict resolution through iṣlāḥ and ḥakam before divorce is decided. These values remain relevant as a foundation for establishing a harmonious family and strengthening family resilience in modern life.
2026-03-31T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) https://ejurnal.iiq.ac.id/index.php/nidaquran/article/view/4573Menimbang Kenabian Perempuan dalam Al-Qur’an: Studi Komparatif Tafsir Fakhruddin ar-Razi dan Quraish Shihab2026-07-29T05:55:24+00:00Maudy Selviaselviamaudy4@gmail.comIffaty Zamimahifa@iiq.ac.id
The issue of female prophethood has long been discussed in Islamic thought and is often influenced by social and cultural views in different periods. This study examines how the Qur’an describes women who are closely connected to prophetic experiences, especially Maryam and the mother of Prophet Musa, through a comparative reading of two Qur’anic commentaries, Mafātīḥ al-Ghaib and Tafsir al-Misbah. This research uses a qualitative library-based method with historical, philosophical, and comparative approaches to understand how the background of each mufassir shapes their interpretation of the same verses, namely QS. Āli ‘Imrān [3]: 42, QS. Maryam [19]: 16–21, and QS. Al-Qaṣaṣ [28]: 7. The findings show that al-Razi rejects the idea of female prophethood by referring to theological and linguistic arguments that limit prophethood to men, reflecting the dominant views of his time. Meanwhile, Quraish Shihab presents a more open perspective by highlighting the spiritual position of Maryam and her special relationship with God, without formally giving her the status of a prophet. These differences indicate that Qur’anic interpretation is closely related to its historical and social context. This study contributes to the discussion of gender and revelation in Islam and encourages a more reflective understanding of classical interpretations in relation to contemporary concerns about justice and equality.
2026-03-31T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) https://ejurnal.iiq.ac.id/index.php/nidaquran/article/view/4574Maskulinitas Tafsir dan Relasi Gender dalam Al-Qur’an: Studi atas Hermeneutika Feminis Amina Wadud 2026-07-29T06:04:24+00:00Mu’allif Kutubmuallifk@gmail.comM Mi’raj Baharuddinquranmiraj@gmail.com
This article discusses the construction of masculinity in the tradition of interpretation and Amina Wadud's contribution in formulating a gender-equitable reading of the Qur'an. Historically, the activity of interpretation has been dominated by male interpreters who bring their gender experiences and awareness into their interpretations, resulting in a patriarchal bias. As a result, women are often excluded from religious knowledge and marginalized from positions of social equality. Through a tauhid hermeneutic approach, Amina Wadud offers a new paradigm for understanding sacred texts that emphasizes the principles of tauhid, justice, and equality as fundamental values of Islam. She seeks to interpret the Qur'an with a holistic approach that considers historical context, linguistic structure, and women's experiences. In this way, the reading of gender verses in the Qur'an is no longer trapped in a hierarchical male-female dichotomy, but is directed towards strengthening the values of justice and complementarity. This research shows that Wadud's ideas do not merely offer an alternative interpretation, but also open up a new epistemological space in contemporary interpretive studies that are responsive to social issues and gender equality.
2026-03-31T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) https://ejurnal.iiq.ac.id/index.php/nidaquran/article/view/4575Relasi Suami Istri dalam Islam: Kajian Tafsir tentang Hak dan Kewajiban 2026-07-29T06:18:13+00:00Naily El Safithahnailyelsa@gmail.comSalsabilah Hasibuansalsabilahhasibuan04@gmail.comRita Rosyidahrrosyidah93@gmail.com
This study examines the rights and obligations of husband and wife in household life based on the Qur’anic interpretation perspective. The focus of the study lies in the interpretation of Surah An-Nisa verse 19, Surah An-Nisa verse 34, and Surah Al-Baqarah verse 233, which explain the principles of mu‘āsyarah bil ma‘rūf (living together in kindness), the husband’s leadership (qiwāmah), as well as responsibilities in providing sustenance and child care. The research method used is library research with a thematic interpretation approach through the analysis of several classical and contemporary tafsir works. The results show that Islam places the relationship between husband and wife on the principles of balance between rights and obligations, justice, compassion, and responsibility. The husband is obliged to lead, provide for, and guide the family, while the wife is responsible for maintaining honor, obeying in what is right, and participating in child-rearing. This study confirms that household harmony can be achieved when both parties understand and fulfill their rights and obligations in accordance with the teachings of the Qur’an.
2026-03-31T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) https://ejurnal.iiq.ac.id/index.php/nidaquran/article/view/4577Nusyuz dan Poligami Dalam Islam (Studi Literatur Tafsir Al-Qur’an)2026-07-29T06:28:52+00:00Naila Mufidahnaila.mufidah2005@gmail.comMia Mariskamiamariska32@gmail.comWidia Nur Hariastutiwidiapkp549@gmail.com
The commandment to cover the awrah in Islam is a fundamental element of Islamic law that encompasses not only a ritual dimension but also profound social and spiritual values. This article comprehensively examines the concept of awrah in the Qur’an by analyzing the interpretation of related verses—QS. An-Nur verse 31, QS. Al-A’raf verse 26, and QS. Al-Ahzab verse 59—from the perspectives of classical and contemporary tafsir (exegesis), as well as elaborating on the social wisdom behind this obligation. This research is a library study employing a descriptive-analytical method. Primary data were gathered from classical tafsir works, such as Jalalain and Ibn Kathir, and contemporary tafsir works, such as Al-Azhar and Al-Mishbah. The findings indicate that awrah is not merely about body parts that must be covered; rather, it is a representation of a Muslim's honor, identity, and obedience. Although there are differences of opinion (ikhtilaf) among scholars regarding the specific boundaries of women's awrah, all schools of thought (madhhab) unanimously agree on the obligation to cover it. This study concludes that covering the awrah holds multidimensional wisdom, serving as a moral fortress to avoid sin and fitnah (temptation/social discord), a deterrent against the arousal of lust, an elevator of status and dignity, a marker of Islamic identity, and a concrete manifestation of piety (taqwa), which serves as the ultimate garment for a believer.
2026-03-31T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c)
