UNDERSTANDING WOMEN'S EDUCATION FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF THE QUR'AN AND ITS TAFSIRS AS AN EFFORT TO STRENGTHEN ISLAM AT THE DAARUL HASANAH KARAWANG ORCHARD

Abstract

Girls living in orphanages often face challenges in accessing a comprehensive understanding of Islamic religious literacy, particularly regarding women's rights and positions as viewed in the Quran. This leaves some female students unable to fully grasp the position of women in Islam. As a socio-religious institution, Daarul Hasanah Orphanage needs to improve their religious understanding so that their identity and spiritual insight can develop properly. This program aims to deepen the students' knowledge of women's education as viewed in the Quran and its interpretation. The method used is thematic interpretation through interactive lectures, group discussions, case studies, and reflection. The participants in this activity were 13 male and female students aged 13 to 18 years. The material presented focused on verses discussing women's education and positions, such as Surah An-Nisa verse 1, Surah Al-Ahzab verse 35, and Surah Al-Mulk. An-Nahl verse 97. The results of this activity showed an increase in participants' understanding of women's rights to education and their position as servants of God, equal to men, despite differences in their roles. Thus, the thematic interpretation approach is considered successful in strengthening Islamic understanding and women's educational insight among female students at the orphanage.

PENDAMPINGAN IMPLEMENTASI PROGRAM PESANTREN RAMADHAN DI MASJID AR-RAUDAH KOTA PADANG

Abstrak

Penelitian ini mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan Program Pesantren Ramadhan di lingkungan Masjid Ar-Raudhah Ulak Karang Utara, Kota Padang. Program ini dilaksanakan selama dua puluh hari dengan melibatkan 30 peserta yang terdiri atas siswa tingkat SD/MI dan SMP/MTs. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, dokumentasi, dan studi program. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Program Pesantren Ramadhan terlaksana dengan baik dan memberikan kontribusi positif terhadap peningkatan pemahaman keagamaan peserta, kedisiplinan dalam beribadah, serta pembentukan akhlak sosial yang lebih baik. Selain itu, program ini juga mampu meningkatkan keterlibatan anak-anak dan remaja dengan masjid sebagai pusat pendidikan Islam dan pembinaan karakter. Pelaksanaan kegiatan yang terstruktur dan berkesinambungan memberikan pengalaman religius yang mendukung penguatan nilai-nilai spiritual dan sosial peserta didik. Di samping itu, Program Pesantren Ramadhan turut memperkuat sinergi antara masyarakat, pengurus masjid, dan pemerintah daerah dalam mendukung pendidikan keagamaan berbasis masyarakat. Dengan demikian, program ini dapat menjadi salah satu model pembinaan keagamaan yang efektif dalam membentuk generasi muda yang religius, berkarakter, dan memiliki kepedulian sosial yang baik.

IMPLEMENTASI KONSERVASI LINGKUNGAN BERBASIS NILAI AL-QUR’AN MELALUI GERAKAN PEDULI LINGKUNGAN DI DESA CIBITUNG TENGAH KECAMATAN TENJOLAYA KABUPATEN BOGOR

Environmental conservation is an essential effort to preserve natural resources and requires the active participation of the community. This community service program aimed to implement environmental conservation based on Qur'anic values through the Environmental Care Movement in Cibitung Tengah Village, Tenjolaya District, Bogor Regency. The methods employed included observation, socialization, educational activities, and environmental care initiatives involving the village government, religious leaders, and local residents. Qur'anic teachings on human responsibility as khalifah fil ardh (stewards of the Earth) served as the foundation for fostering environmental awareness and responsible behavior. The results indicated an improvement in community understanding of the importance of environmental conservation, increased participation in environmental cleanliness and management activities, and a growing awareness that protecting the environment is an integral part of practicing Islamic teachings. This program is expected to serve as a community empowerment model based on religious values to support sustainable environmental conservation.

Implementasi Nilai-Nilai Filantropi Islam dalam Kegiatan KKL: Studi Pendistribusian Wakaf Al-Qur’an di Desa Tangkil

The Community Service Program (Kuliah Kerja Lapangan/ KKL) in Tangkil Village, Citeureup District, Bogor Regency, was carried out to enhance religious literacy and instill Islamic philanthropic values through the Qur’an endowment (wakaf) distribution program. Tangkil Village was selected due to its limited access to proper Qur’an copies (mushaf) and the community’s lack of understanding regarding productive wakaf, particularly among children and youth in majelis taklim (Islamic study groups). This research and service activity employed a descriptive qualitative approach with a Participatory Action Research (PAR) strategy, involving the community directly in identifying needs, implementing the distribution, and evaluating the program’s benefits. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, documentation, and Focus Group Discussions (FGD).

The results indicate that the distribution of new mushaf increased students’ motivation to learn, improved the fluency of Qur’an recitation, and fostered a sense of responsibility in preserving the holy book. The program also strengthened the community’s social and spiritual awareness, reflecting values of empathy, sincerity, and sustainability in Islamic philanthropy. Challenges encountered included the limited number of mushaf, insufficient time for ongoing mentoring, and variations in students’ abilities. Solutions implemented involved prioritizing distribution, delivering brief educational messages, and adapting mushaf usage according to ability levels. EDUKASI SYARIAT DAN PRAKTIK AKIKAH SESUAI SUNNAH BAGI MASYARAKAT MELALUI PENYULUHAN KEAGAMAAN DI LINGKUNGAN MAJELIS TAKLIM

Aqiqah, as a strongly recommended sunnah upon the birth of a child, is widely practiced among Muslim communities, yet its implementation is frequently shaped more by inherited local custom than by an accurate understanding of its legal foundations. This community service program aims to strengthen public literacy regarding the legal basis, wisdom, and correct procedures of aqiqah in accordance with the Qur’an and the guidance of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The activity was conducted through outreach, training, and mentoring at a local majelis taklim from 2024 to 2025, focusing on the legal status of aqiqah, the timing and number of sacrificial animals, the conditions of the animal, the distribution of the meat, and misconceptions circulating in society. The methods were participatory and educational, combining lectures, visual media, discussion, and direct practice simulations, evaluated through pre-post tests and participatory observation. The results show that structured religious education significantly improved participants’ understanding, with average post-test scores rising from 52 to 84, and enabled participants to distinguish religiously grounded practices from mere cultural habits. This program constitutes a good practice in mainstreaming syariah-based family literacy and underscores the importance of continuous religious education, accessible learning modules, and collaboration among religious institutions to build an informed and devout community.

PENINGKATAN KUALITAS BACAAN AL-QUR’AN MELALUI PELATIHAN TAHSIN BERBASIS METODE MAISURA BAGI SISWA MAN 4 JAKARTA

The ability to recite the Qur’an correctly according to tajwid rules remains a challenge among madrasah students, even though Qur’anic literacy is a fundamental competency in Islamic education. This community service program aims to improve the quality of Qur’anic recitation among students of MAN 4 Jakarta through tahsin training based on the Maisura method, an integrated tajwid approach developed to accelerate the achievement of accurate makhraj and optimal tartil. The activity was carried out on Friday, 11 July 2025, involving students as participants, and employed a participatory approach combining lectures, talaqqi-musyafahah demonstration, repetitive drills, and direct practice, evaluated through participatory observation and informal discussions with participants and teachers. The results show that the Maisura-based tahsin training improved participants’ recitation quality, particularly in the accuracy of makhraj, the application of tajwid rules, and reading fluency. Participants also demonstrated greater confidence and enthusiasm in reciting the Qur’an. This program constitutes a good practice in strengthening Qur’anic literacy at the madrasah level and underscores the importance of structured tahsin methods, trained facilitators, and continuous mentoring to build a strong foundation of Qur’anic recitation among students.
