https://ejurnal.iiq.ac.id/index.php/alqaul/article/view/3012

The development of digital technology has brought significant changes to the world of graphic design, particularly with the emergence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in various applications such as Canva and Adobe. This technology simplifies workflow, increases efficiency, and enhances visual exploration. However, not all designers respond uniformly. Some feel assisted by the sophistication of AI features, while others express concerns about the loss of personal touch and the potential decline in originality. This condition reflects a gap between technological advancement and the readiness of graphic design practitioners to adapt.
This study aims to explore the perceptions of graphic designers regarding design digitalization, particularly in the context of AI feature utilization in digital design applications. A descriptive qualitative approach was used, with Everett M. Rogers’ Diffusion of Innovations theory as the analytical framework. Data were collected through written interviews via Google Forms using a purposive sampling technique, involving 101 informants consisting of students and design practitioners. The discussion focuses on how designers respond to the emergence of AI technology, the challenges they face, and the adaptation strategies they apply to maintain the quality and authenticity of their work.
The findings indicate that AI-based design digitalization is perceived as an innovation that brings many benefits to the creative process of graphic designers. The technology is considered to accelerate workflow, overcome creative blocks, and expand market reach. However, the level of acceptance of this technology is strongly influenced by internal factors such as adaptability, personal values, and individual experience. Therefore, technology should be regarded as a supportive tool that enhances creativity, not as a threat that replaces the human role in the design field.
Lutfia Saidatul HamdiahAl Mukarromah

2025-08-292025-08-2942103116STUDI ULUMUL QUR’AN DI TENGAH HEGEMONI ARTIFICIAL INTELLEGENCE
https://ejurnal.iiq.ac.id/index.php/alqaul/article/view/3013

This article critically examines the study of Ulūmul Qur’an (UQ) amidst the growing hegemony of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The findings reveal that the presence of AI in this era of technological transformation is inevitable and must be understood, tamed, mastered, and applied to various fields, including UQ. Positively, AI can accelerate access to literature, support thematic and linguistic analysis of the Qur’an, and enable dynamic and up-to-date digital interpretations using standardized and popular language. This presents a significant opportunity for the advancement of UQ.

However, AI use also poses negative risks: it may generate biased interpretations, undermine traditional scholarly authority, disseminate unverified content, and promote superficial learning. Therefore, AI presents both a challenge and a critical juncture for Muslim learners and scholars. Ideally, digitally literate Muslim scholars proficient in UQ should strive to develop alternative AI tools with capabilities comparable to those produced in the United States, Germany, or China. In the absence of such technological parity, at the very least, AI must be integrated into UQ thoughtfully and critically.

Interdisciplinary collaboration—among scholars, technologists, and educational institutions—is crucial to ensure that AI strengthens rather than compromises the authenticity of the Qur’an, the authority of Islamic knowledge, and the legacy of traditional scholars. For those not yet digitally literate or unfamiliar with UQ, a cautious approach to AI use is necessary. Guidance from experts is essential to avoid the risk of distorted or misguided understandings of the Qur’an.
Ahmad Fahruddin
