Abstract

Abstract

Background of the Research: The Montessori method has been shown to be successful in improving the quality of learning during the critical period of early childhood education. It is necessary to investigate the use of the Montessori technique in the context of Quran-based education in Pasar Rebo, East Jakarta. The purpose of this study is to examine how the Montessori technique is applied in Quran Preschools and how it affects the standard of early childhood education. Methodologies: This research employs a qualitative approach with subjects consisting of teachers, parents, and children at the Quran Preschool. In-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis were the methods that were utilized to obtain the data. Principal Results: The findings indicate that the implementation of the Montessori method enhances children's learning interest, supports social and emotional development, and encourages independence. Children learning through this method show significant improvement in engagement and participation in learning activities. Major Conclusions: It has been demonstrated that the Montessori approach is an efficient means of enhancing the quality of early childhood education at Quran Preschools, with good effects on the development of character and various social skills. Contributions to the Field: This research provides new insights into the application of the Montessori method in the context of Quran-based education and offers recommendations for educators and policymakers to consider this method in early childhood education curricula in Indonesia.
